The Gran Fondo Costa Rica, La FORTUNA edition, challenges you to challenge your limits and see if you are able to conquer the grand finale at Mirador Los Lagos.
These last 2.5 kilometers will be exclusive for participants and their companions, as it is 100% vehicle-free, so you can live an experience you will want to repeat.
This final climb will take you through sections of up to 25% incline, with slight slopes and breaks and an easy finish towards the Mirador, where your feeling of satisfaction for completing the route will make it all worthwhile.

AWARDS
A prize pool of $3,000 will be distributed among the first 3 places in each category.
Each cyclist must place his category carefully
at the time of registration according to your
age range.
COMPANIONS AND PARKING
Companions of participants will have access to enter the last 2,500 meters of the route.
You will not have to pay any fee to enter the stage closure owned by Los Lagos up to the Mirador. However, if you wish to use the facilities within the Hotel you must pay the entrance fee at the reception of the hotel.
Once they are in the final climb, the companions can place chairs, tables, awnings and even grills to create an arrival in the best style of the grand tours.
Before the arrival of the first cyclists, a vehicle belonging to the organisation will drive up to distribute branding, caps, horns, smoke bombs and pennants to encourage the cyclists at the finish.
Accompanying persons are advised not to accompany cyclists during the route so that they can be present at the finish.
At Hotel los Lagos, participants will have parking included as part of their kit. This is subject to parking capacity.
Once the lake is full, the passage inside the lakes must be closed, so we invite participants and their companions to arrive at the departure point well in advance.
EXIT SKETCH
DETAIL:
1 - Main entrance to the Hotel Los Lagos.
Access to the Los Lagos parking lot is permitted until 5:00 am, or until the maximum capacity is reached. It is important to arrive at least 2 hours before departure. This way, participants will have time to get ready and accommodate themselves without delaying others.
2 - The starting corral will be open from 5:15 am to 5:45 am. The official start will be at 6:00 am.
3 - Direction to take the road to Nuevo Arenal and Tilarán. Participants are requested not to park inside the hotel, not to park where the route leaves so as not to threaten the smooth flow of cyclists leaving.
4 - Reception of Hotel Los Lagos. Here, the companions staying can purchase their entrance to the hot springs if they so require. In the case of access to the viewpoint via the arrival route, they can do so free of charge.
5 - Cyclists and their companions will be able to obtain a 20% discount at the Los Lagos restaurant in the buffet style.
6 - Location of the hot springs. Access is only possible with a hotel ticket. Registration does not include the hot springs.
7 - Parking with capacity for 450 cars. Once this number is reached, the parking lot will be closed.
